The Head of Civil Service in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mrs Grace Adayilo, has reportedly died.
Naija News learnt that Adayilo, an indigene of Abuja and the first to ever occupy the position in the FCT Administration, reportedly slumped and passed away in the early hours of Monday.
According to ThisDay, sources confirmed that the late civil service chief had attended a church service on Sunday where she made donations to the congregation, showing no signs of ailment before her sudden death.
The Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, Mr Lere Olayinka, confirmed the development on Monday morning.
“She has passed on,” Olayinka told journalists.
Meanwhile, the body of Ruth Otabor, younger sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna, has been evacuated by representatives of the Dangote Group after her death on Sunday morning.
Naija News reports that Ruth, who lived in Edo State, died weeks after she was hit by a truck belonging to the company near Auchi Polytechnic.
The accident, which crushed her leg, had earlier led to an amputation.
She was confirmed dead around 6:30 a.m. on August 31, 2025.
Her family, through their lawyers, announced her passing and requested privacy as they mourn.
They also stated that details of her funeral would be shared later.
Family members told Punch that officials of the Dangote Group were contacted immediately after Ruth’s death, after which they took her remains to a mortuary.
“When she died this morning, the representatives of Dangote Group were contacted and notified. They later came and took the corpse to the mortuary. We are expecting that they take over the expenses of her burial, since they had stepped in to take over her medical expenses,” the source said.
Relatives described Ruth as a lively and caring person who was loved by many.
