Blessing Nkor Celebrates Her Invite To Super Falcons
Former Sunshine Queens striker, Blessing Nkor is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to make her mark with Nigeria’s women’s national football team, Super Falcons.
Blessing Nkor has received her first call-up for the squad ahead of an international friendly match scheduled against France at 9:10 p.m. on Saturday, November 10.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially announced a 20-player roster for the upcoming game, with Nkor cutting a promising addition.
Upon the news of her selection, she expressed her excitement and gratitude through social media, stating, “God did it,” showcasing her enthusiasm for this significant milestone in her career.
Nkor wrote, “I’m grateful for this privilege and honour. It’s time to soar higher.”
She also extended special thanks to everyone who has supported her along her journey, acknowledging that their encouragement means the world to her.
Nkor’s football journey has been highlighted by her youth national team experience, as she was a vital member of Nigeria’s Under-20 women’s team from 2022 to 2023.
She previously played for the Sunshine Queens from 2021 to 2022, where she showcased her talent and skill on the field. In September 2022, she made a move to the Tanzanian club Yanga Princesses, furthering her development before joining Turkish side Gaziantep AsyaSpor for the current 2023-2024 season.
Now at the age of 21, Nkor is set to join her teammates in Angers, France, where she will train and prepare for the friendly match. She is expected to collaborate with fellow strikers such as Gift Monday, Ifeoma Onumonu, Rinsola Babajide, and Mercy Okonkwo of Bayelsa Queens as they aim to showcase their talents against a formidable French side.
