JUST IN: Terrorists Release Kidnapped Female Student Of Federal University Dutsina-Man After 45 Days

A female student from Federal University Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, Northwest Nigeria, who was kidnapped about two months ago, has been released by the terrorists after a ransom was paid.

The family of the student, Muhammad Fatima Ruqqayat, confirmed that she was released on Sunday after being held captive for more than 45 days.

The terrorists demanded over N4 million from the family and the school management before releasing her, Naija News learnt.

This news platform had reported earlier that the terrorists had abducted at least five female students from the university hostel in the North-West region.

The assailants were said to have stormed the school environment and invaded the students’ private lodge along Moriamoh Ajiri School at Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, where they whisked away at least five female students of the university dwelling in the area.

According to SaharaReporters, one of Ruqqayat’s relations, Muhammad Taoheed, confirmed that the female student was released after the terrorists collected over N4 million ransom from the family and the school management.

Wife Of ECWA Pastor Killed In Kaduna Regains Freedom From Kidnappers

Meanwhile, the wife of the slain Pastor of Second Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Damakasuwa in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Grace Maraya, whom gunmen abducted, has regained her freedom two days after her husband was killed.
According to Punch, Maraya’s release was confirmed by an elder in the church on Monday.

He said a ransom of N350,000 was paid to secure her release on Sunday night.

According to him, the kidnappers had earlier demanded N3 million, but after negotiation, they accepted N350,000 before she was released.

Naija News recalls that gunmen in the early hours of last week Friday stormed the clergy’s house in Damakasuwa, killing Rev Amako Maraya, who was the church pastor, and abducting his wife, Grace.

A report has it that the same group of gunmen, three months ago, had made an unsuccessful attempt to kidnap the clergyman’s son.

However, with the assistance of the community, their nefarious plan was thwarted, although the Pastor’s son sustained injuries during the incident.

Chinge, giving an update on the cleric’s wife’s release, said, “Mrs Grace was released to us on Sunday night, she is presently taking medication in one of the hospitals.”
