Police Declare 24-hour Curfew In Kano After Tribunal Judgment

Police operatives in Kaduna State have reportedly rescued three people who were abducted recently by suspected bandits looting the state.

The kidnapped victims were rescued at Kidandan, a small community in the Giwa Local Government Area of the state.

Confirming the development, the spokesman of the Command, ASP Mansur Hassan, told journalists in Kaduna on Wednesday that the command rescued the victims on Monday, November 13.

According to Hassan, the victims were abducted by the bandits on October 3 while travelling to Kano via the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway.

He also mentioned that the successful rescue of the victims was a result of increased patrols in the area, which compelled the bandits to abandon their captives. Additionally, the rescued victims have been reunited with their families.

“On Tuesday at about 1800hrs, a team patrolling the vulnerable area sighted a man in excruciating pain with a swollen face.

“When questioned, the man said that he was attacked with a hammer by a passenger who robbed his motorcycle,” Daily Post quoted the police spokesperson saying.

The representative stated that due to the prompt response of the authorities, the suspect was apprehended in the Bagadaza Dogarawa vicinity of Sabo Garin Zaria LGA. Additionally, a motorbike and a hammer were seized from the suspect, and an inquiry into the matter is currently underway.

Hassan emphasized the police force’s dedication to combating crime in the region and appealed to the public for their cooperation.
