Igala Elders Call For Postponement Of Kogi Guber Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has initiated the distribution of crucial electoral materials to all 27 LGAs in Imo State for the upcoming gubernatorial election on Saturday.

This essential operation occurred at the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Owerri branch, the state’s capital, where INEC provided the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System machines, ballot papers, and result sheets for the election across all 27 LGAs.

During the distribution of these sensitive materials, Southeast National Commissioner Kenneth Ukeagu addressed journalists and expressed INEC’s readiness for the forthcoming poll in the state.

Ukeagu assured that elections would proceed as planned in all the LGAs, as comprehensive security measures had been put in place by security agencies.

He emphasized that with INEC’s meticulous planning, he anticipated a smooth process without significant issues. Ukeagu also noted that INEC staff members had received comprehensive training and were instructed to carry out their duties with professionalism during the election.

He urged the eligible voters in Imo State to turn out in large numbers on Saturday to exercise their democratic right by choosing their preferred governor.

Ukeagu stated, “We are fully prepared for the election and are currently distributing sensitive materials to all LGAs in the state, as the election is set to take place in every LGA. We have received assurances from security agencies for the provision of ample security before, during, and after the election.”

“On our part, we have meticulously planned and organized everything. The people of the state must come out on Saturday to select their governor of choice.
