Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen is expected to return to his club, Napoli, on Wednesday, November 8, after spending an extra one week in Nigeria.

Victor Osimhen has been nursing a hamstring injury since the international break in October and remained in the country to attend to a family issue while he recuperate.

Following his injury in a 2-2 draw with Saudi Arabia, the 24-year-old has missed Napoli’s games against Hella Verona, Union Berlin, AC Milan, and Salernitana.

In Osimhen’s absence, Napoli has played better, winning three of their last four games and drawing the other.

He had resolved his personal affairs in Lagos, according to Il Mattino, an Italian newspaper, and he was scheduled to return to the club on Wednesday.

When Osimhen returns to Italy, he will undergo more medical examinations to see how well his recovery is progressing.

The intention is to have the Nigeria international back in action for Napoli’s UEFA Champions League match against Real Madrid on November 29.

Osimhen has six goals in eight games so far this season, demonstrating his value to Napoli, so the reigning Italian Serie A champions should be excited for him to return.

The importance of having Osimhen back was emphasized by Napoli’s coach Rudi Garcia before their match against Salernitana. The coach said the club “can’t wait for him to come back soon”.

Hence, Osimhen’s recovery is being closely watched, and Napoli will gain a lot from having him back as they continue to push for the league and the Champions League titles.
