Peter Mbah Reacts As Appeal Court Affirms His Victory As Enugu State Governor

The Federal High Court, Abuja, will today (Monday), rule in the suit of alleged certificate forgery levelled against the Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah.

Governor Mbah has been alleged to have forged his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate.

Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court will deliver judgment in a suit instituted against NYSC by the governor to challenge the allegations against him.

A notice of judgment delivery revealed that judgment in the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1611/2023 would be handed down in a few hours.

At the time of filing this report, supporters of the Enugu State Governor have stormed the courtroom to witness the proceedings.

Governor Mbah had, before his inauguration on May 29, sued the NYSC and its Director, Corps Certification, Ibrahim Muhammad, for publishing a disclaimer denying the issuance of a discharge certificate to him on January 6, 2003.

Justice Ekwo had, on May 15, restrained the NYSC, Muhammad and any of their agents from, henceforth, engaging in such publication pending the hearing and determination of the substantive matter.

Governor Mbah if found guilty of forging his NYSC certificate by the court, on Monday, could be removed from office.
