Eddie Hearn, the boxing promoter of Nigerian-born British boxer, Anthony Joshua, has stressed that his client would beat cross-over heavyweight boxer, Francis Ngannou.

Long before Francis Ngannou made his debut in heavyweight boxing, the Cameroonian-born American Mixed Martial Arts icon had always wanted to box Anthony Joshua professionally.

However, the management team of Joshua reportedly failed to see the light in such an endeavour until Ngannou stunned the boxing world by almost defeating the undefeated heavyweight boxer, Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia in October.

Recall that despite it being Ngannou’s first professional heavyweight boxing bout, he was able to drag Fury to the 10th round. Not only that, he was able to drop Fury on the ground in the third round but the British heavyweight boxer managed to win on a controversial split decision.

Since then, most boxing enthusiasts have thought that Ngannou should get a rematch with Fury or fight Anthony Joshua.

Eddie Hearn who seems to be very confident of the boxing ability of Joshua wouldn’t mind seeing his client face the Cameroonian as he insisted that the newcomer stands no chance against AJ.

“AJ against Francis Ngannou is massive, it’s massive. Two giants next to each other. Who knows what’s going to happen? I can’t even believe we’re debating this,” Eddie Hearn said on The MMA Hour.

“The money for Francis Ngannou in boxing, he ain’t going back (to MMA). The money that I know AJ against Ngannou could generate. A lot more than Ngannou got against Fury. Joshua wasn’t originally interested in the gimmick fight when it was proposed to him. A lot of people’s perception pre-fight was that Fury vs Ngannou was farcical.

“We are now in the position where we’re debating if Francis Ngannou beats Anthony Joshua. Take my money and I will show you what happens when Anthony Joshua fights Francis Ngannou. I said three rounds last Saturday, but I’ll be generous and say six rounds (for Joshua to beat Ngannou).”
