Burna Boy Loses Massively At 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards

Grammy Award-winning singer, Burna Boy on Tuesday night lost all seven nominations at the 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards, which was held at Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in America.

Naija News reports that the 32-year-old lost the Hip Hop Artist of the Year, Lyricist of the Year, and Best Live Performer of the Year categories to American rapper, Kendrick Lamar.

Burna Boy also lost the Hustler of the Year to rapper and filmmaker, 50 Cent and Best Collaboration of the Year for ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’ featuring 21 Savage to Lil Durk and J. Cole’s ‘All My Life.’

The singer also failed to take home the award for Best Hip Hop Video for ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’ which he lost to rapper, Lil Uzi Vert and Song of the Year.

Meanwhile, Ghanaian artiste, Black Sherif won the Best International Flow category, defeating South Africa’s late AKA and K.O, France’s Gazo and Ninho, UK’s J Hus, Central Cee and others.

Burna Boy Reveals Who Inspired Him When He Was ‘Musically Exhausted’

Meanwhile, grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy recently disclosed that the late Indian rapper, Sidhu Moose Wala was his source of inspiration when he was “musically exhausted.”

Burna Boy made this known during an interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra, where he stated that he was working on a joint project with Moose Wala before the rapper was assassinated in May 2022.

Burna Boy said,“I was exhausted musically, and I was just like, I need something new.”
