Atiku vs Tinubu: APC Chieftain 'Reveals' Who Amaechi Is Working For In Rivers State

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze has rubbished reports that the former Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi is working against the interests of President Bola Tinubu and the party in Rivers State.

Eze also denied reports that Amaechi ordered people of the state to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar during the 2023 elections.

The APC chieftain in a statement on Friday while reacting to the allegations made by another party leader in Rivers State, Tony Okocha during a recent visit to the party’s national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje said those calling out Amaechi are only playing politics of smear campaign.

He added that there is no deal between Amaechi and Atiku and at no time before the 2023 elections did the former Minister order his supporters to work against Tinubu.

Eze added that Okocha was no longer a member of the APC, hence can’t have details of the internal operations of the party.

He alleged that Okocha and others with him embarked on the current media wars because Ganduje did not support their plans to execute campaigns of calumny against Amaechi and the mainstream APC state executive in Rivers.

“Okocha and his team were disappointed when Abdullahi Ganduje cautioned them not to heat the polity and allow the leadership of the party at the central work out modalities to calm frayed nerves and resolve every issue affecting the party in the state before delving into constituting another party structure in the state,” he said.
