Stop Overheating The System – Ganduje Warns Rivers Politicians

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje has warned stakeholders and leaders of the party in Rivers State to desist from overhearing the system.

The former governor stated this while receiving some set of leaders and stakeholders of the party.

Ganduje noted that the effort to analyze the source of the travails of APC in Rivers may ultimately lead to paralysis.

Ganduje said the party is highly factionalized, adding that the problem of the party commenced in 2015 when party stakeholders engaged in endless litigations. According to him, litigation sounded the death knell of the APC in Rivers.

He therefore urged all stakeholders to allow the party at the center to seize the opportunity of victory in national elections to resolve issues and unite the party.

He said, “There is no doubt Rivers State is a very important state in Nigeria, an oil state and also a reasonable population.

“Population is an asset for election and is an asset to any political party.

“So you can see how we can not rubbish the state, Rivers as a state in politics is a very important state. I welcome you and I listen to you with a keen interest.

“So the travails of APC in Rivers started in 2015 when we had a government and lost a government. I could recall vividly that the governor said at that time, people should not go out for voting some few hours before voting because he complained of intimidation.

“We said how can a ruling government prevent his people from going out and vote as I said, no doubt we have lost this election

“Because whatever you do, you didn’t even go to vote, then how do you claim that you have won the election?

“That was the beginning of the travail, I don’t want to go into details. Because you have mentioned more than the details I know. But in summary, our party in River State is highly factionalized, that is a fact about it.

“Our party in River state was killed by litigations, that one is a fact”
