The UEFA Champions League matchday 2 ended today with some exciting games that ended with a couple of stunning results.

Atlético Madrid started the winning spree for tonight by beating Feyenoord 3-2 in Spain courtesy of two goals from Álvaro Morata and a goal from Antoine Griezmann.

Shakhtar Donetsk also grabbed a 3-1 win over Antwerp thanks to two goals from Danylo Sikan and a goal from Yaroslav Rakitskyi.

The biggest stunner for Wednesday’s Champions League matchday 2 happened at St. James Park where Newcastle United defeated French Ligue 1 champions, Paris Saint Germain 3-1.

A goal from Miguel Almirón, Dan Burn, Sean Longstaff, and an injury-time goal from Fabian Schär made PSG’s Lucas Hernández’s 56th-minute goal look meaningless.

At Red Bull Arena Leipzig, Manchester City proved why they are the reigning champions of the Champions League by turning what initially looked like a draw into an emphatic 3-1 victory in the last ten minutes of the game.

An early goal from Phil Foden and very late goals from Julián Álvarez and Jérémy Doku ensured Pep Guardiola didn’t leave Germany without the maximum three points since the usual suspect Erling Haaland didn’t come to the party despite playing the entire 90 minutes.
