Transfer Deadline: Saudi's Al-Ittihad Bid For Liverpool's Mo Salah Rejected
Liverpool forward - Mohamed Salah

English Premier League side, Liverpool, has reportedly rejected a verbal offer for Mohamed Salah from the Saudi Pro League club, Al-Ittihad.

Reports earlier claimed that Al-Ittihad had prepared to make Liverpool a bid for a record Premier League sum of £150 million for the Egyptian star.

Salah is 31 years old and has won trophies, including the Premier League and UEFA Champions League with Liverpool.

However, the Reds are not interested in the Saudi Pro League club’s sumptuous offer, including substantial add-ons.

Reports had it that an approach made by Al Ittihad during an amicable call to Liverpool director Mike Gordon on Thursday night was given no consideration and turned down immediately.

The Anfield club reportedly insisted that Mo Salah is not for sale and considered the case closed. That view is not shared by the Saudis, though, who are expected to maintain a strong interest.

Naija News recalls that Salah signed a new three-year contract last summer, which made him the highest-paid player in Liverpool history at around £350,000 per week.

Salah, who scored 30 goals in all competitions for Liverpool last season, was recently promoted to the club’s leadership group by manager Jurgen Klopp.

He has featured three times for Liverpool so far this season, scoring in the home win over Bournemouth last month.
