It is becoming real that Chelsea’s wingback, Marc Cucurella could end up at Manchester United this season even though most fans of the Red Devils seem not to be interested in such a deal.

Marc Cucurella joined Chelsea from Brighton on August 5, 2022, for a transfer fee worth €65.30 million with a lot of expectations.

But his place in the club’s squad started to dwindle last season and the situation became worse this season as he has not made any appearances in three Premier League games.

Manchester United started considering bringing in Marc Cucurella on loan to replace Luke Shaw who suffered a muscle injury that is set to keep him out for an extended period.

Shaw’s injury came when his major backup player in the left-back position Tyrell Malacia is also battling to return to full fitness.

Hence, coach Erik ten Hag and his team are battling to grab a new left-back before this summer transfer window closes on September 1, and the Spanish defender seems to be the best option for the team.

While some Chelsea fans are excited that Marc Cucurella won’t be at Stamford Bridge this season, some Manchester United fans are not looking forward to Cucurella’s arrival.

Despite that, David Ornstein of The Athletic has confirmed that Manchester United have submitted an official loan offer to Chelsea for Cucurella and the two clubs have started negotiating a loan deal for the 25-year-old Spanish defender.

They are currently discussing an initial loan deal which could come with a clause to buy at the end of this season.

Since the Spanish defender joined Chelsea last summer, he has managed to play just 33 games in all competitions and has provided two assists.
