James Maddison has scored his first goal for Tottenham Hotspur as the north London side defeated Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium earlier today, August 26.

James Maddison got his first goal for Tottenham in the 17th minute after a fluid play involving Pape Sarr and Yves Bissouma, seconds after goalkeeper Neto had stopped his first goal attempt.

After the goal for the 26-year-old English footballer who joined the club from Leicester City this summer, Tottenham failed to double their lead despite a series of goalscoring opportunities.

Throughout the first half, Brazilian forward, Richarlison had the best goalscoring chances but failed to take them for Spurs.

Antoine Semenyo came close to a remarkable second-half equalizer for Bournemouth, but the Ghanaian’s looping drive from the edge of the box narrowly missed the top corner.

In the 63rd minute, Dejan Kulusevski scored his first goal of the season after fullback Destiny Udogie, who performed an excellent one-two with Heung-min Son cut the ball back for him.

Following the 2-0 away win, coach Ange Postecoglou and his boys are yet to record a defeat in the 2023-2024 Premier League campaign. They have recorded two wins and a draw in three games so far.

They are currently topping the league table, pending the outcome of other matches in week three, with 7 points in three games.
