The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara on Saturday played host to a delegation of top federal government officials led by the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.

The delegation also included the Defence Minister, Mohammed Badaru, Defence (State), Bello Matawalle, Minister of State (Gas) Ekperipe Ekpo, as well as the Minister of State, Petroleum, Heineken Lokpobiri.

Also on the delegation was the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) limited, Mele Kyari as well as a host of top military brass.

Governor Fubara disclosed that during the meeting, critical national issues relating to oil assets and investments were discussed.

Taking to his Twitter account, the Governor wrote: “Today, we received a high profiled delegation led by the National Security Adviser, Mallam @NuhuRibadu, and a host of Ministers which include Defence, Mohammed Badaru, Defence (State), @Bellomatawalle1, Minister of State, Gas, Ekperipe Ekpo, Minister of State, Petroleum, @DrLokpobiri, the Group Chief Executive Officer of @nnpclimited and a host of top military brass.”

Bello Matawalle Reveals Plan For Defence Ministry

The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle on Wednesday revealed his plan for the ministry amidst criticism.

Critics had condemned President Bola Tinubu for appointing Matawalle as Defence minister, stating that his state battled insecurity on a major scale while he was governor.

Matawalle, however, expressed confidence in his ability to handle the assignment, adding that he will work hard to secure the nation.
