Napoli Increase Victor Osimhen’s Salary

Italian Serie A reigning champions, Napoli, are set to increase the salary of Nigeria international, Victor Osimhen who is set to renew his contract with the club.

After a prolonged period of contract negotiations, Victor Osimhen and Napoli are said to be close to agreeing a new deal that will permanently put an end to all the transfer speculations concerning the 24-year-old striker.

Recall that Osimhen scored 26 goals and provided five assists in 32 league games for Napoli last season which helped the club to win the Scudetto.

At the end of the season, Osimhen won the top scorer award in Serie A and also broke a 14-year jinx by becoming the first player since Zlatan Ibrahimovic to win both the Capocannoniere and the Scudetto in the same season.

After his outstanding performance in the 2022-2023 season, several clubs expressed interest in signing him, including Manchester United, PSG, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Al-Hilal of the Saudi Pro League.

In the club’s friendly match on Friday, the Nigeria international who recently bounced back from an ankle injury, scored a goal as Napoli beat Apollon Limassol 2-0.

Ahead of the commencement of the 2023-2024 season, Naija News gathered that Napoli have offered a contract extension to Victor Osimhen which will see him earn more than two times his current salary.

Based on the new offer which Osimhen is expected to sign in a matter of days, Osimhen will earn €10 million per season in the three-year deal. The new contract will expire on June 30, 2027.

The deal comes with a €150 million release clause according to an Italian publication Football-Italia.
