APC Holds Solidarity Rally For Tinubu In USA

Sources inside the All Progressive Congress(APC) have revealed part of the outline to be discussed at the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), slated for Wednesday and Thursday.

According to them, the agenda at tomorrow’s NEC meeting will include the outcome of the 2023 general elections, circumstances that led to the resignation of the APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore.

Naija News reports that Adamu and Omisore resigned recently due to intense party crises.

The Deputy National Chairman (North), Senator Abubakar Kyari, and Deputy Secretary, Festus Fuanter, took over in acting capacities pending the conduct of a mini-national convention.

Speaking with Daily Trust, one of the sources said the NEC would also discuss the Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa governorship elections slated for November 11, anti-party activities during the last elections, and the reward system in the party, among other contentious issues.

However, while the source confirmed the NEC, which is the second highest decision-making organ of the party, will hold discussions around the replacement of Adamu, and Omisore, he could not confirm a date for the convention of the party.

It was also gathered sources in the APC say the caucus and NEC meetings would deliberate on the issue and appoint an acting national chairman for a period within which they would organise a convention for the election of new officers.

This platform, however, understands that positioning have begun as the party moves to appoint an acting chairman who would replace Kyari and organise the convention for the election of substantive national chairman, secretary, women’s leader, and national vice chairman (North West).
