Harry Kane: Bayern And Tottenham’s Meeting Ends In Deadlock

The meeting between Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur over the future of English striker Harry  Kane did not end in favour of any of the parties involved.

Representatives of Bayern Munich led by the club’s chief executive, Jan-Christian Dreesen, and the technical director, Marco Neppe, flew to London to have a meeting with the chairman of Tottenham Hotspur, Daniel Levy on Monday, in an attempt to push for the signature of Harry Kane.

After the dialogue on Monday, July 31, Naija News gathered that the offer Bayern made for Kane did not meet up with the expectation of the Premier League club.

Recall that since this summer transfer window opened, Bayern have been pushing to sign Kane as their new striker ahead of the 2023-2024 season.

Spurs have rejected a series of offers from Bayern as the Premier League side continue to push Kane to extend his current contract which will expire on June 30, 2024.

However, Kane is reportedly interested in moving to Bayern who have a better prospect of winning major titles than Spurs but the north London side want to keep their all-time highest goalscorer beyond this summer, and probably Bayern next season.

Amidst that, they risk losing Kane for free and to a rival club in the Premier League next summer if they don’t sell him or make him sign a new contract this summer.

Unfortunately, Kane who is currently 30 years old and desperately in need of major titles want to leave Spurs for greener pastures this summer or for free next summer.

To avoid losing him for free that is why Spurs are still discussing with Bayern even though the German Bundesliga’s valuation of Kane is said to be £20 million short of the expectation.

Even though Monday’s meeting ended in deadlock, Naija News gathered that Bayern Munich are determined to continue negotiating with Spurs until the very last minute of the summer transfer window which will close on September 1.

Amidst that, Paris Saint Germain are said to be waiting on the sidelines to step in once Spurs give the needed greenlight.
