Bayern Munich honorary president, Uli Hoeness has stressed that the German Bundesliga champions would sign Harry Kane this summer despite Tottenham Hotspur’s resistance.

Recall that after Tottenham Hotspur rejected Bayern’s first offer of £60 million, the German Bundesliga champions made a second offer worth £70 million for Harry Kane’s signature which the Premier League club rejected.

Amidst that Uli Hoeness confirmed that Bayern Munich and Harry Kane’s representatives have met and negotiated a deal for the 29-year-old England international.

Hoeness stated that their conversations with Patrick, Kane’s father, and Charlie, Kane’s brother and agent, had gone smoothly.

“Kane has clearly signaled in all conversations that his decision stands – and if it stays, then we’ll get him,” Hoeness told Sport1.

“He wants to play in Europe and luckily for us, Tottenham will not be next year. He now has another opportunity to come to a top club in Europe.”

“His advisers are also very pleasant in this case. Up to now, the father and the brother have always stood by what they promised. If it stays that way, that’s OK.”

On Thursday, Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy, reportedly met with Bayern Munich representatives to discuss a prospective deal which is believed to be that of Harry Kane.

The England international who scored 30 Premier League goals for Tottenham Hotspur last season has until June 30, 2024, before his current contract with the North London club expires.

Since the 2022-2023 season ended, Spurs have been trying to extend the contract of Kane. There are even reports that Spurs are willing to pay Kane as much as £400,000 per week just to convince him to stay.

The best news for Tottenham Hotspur fans is that the England international followed the club on a pre-season tour of Singapore, Australia, and Thailand on Monday.
