Transfers: Man United To Dump Skipper To Raise Funds

Manchester United seem to be very busy in the transfer market not just for the incomings but in terms of outgoing players.

Updates from transfer market expert, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Manchester United are still very much in pursuit of 20-year-old Danish striker Rasmus Højlund even though Atalanta rejected their initial offer.

Earlier today, Atalanta and the Premier League giants reportedly had direct talks over the future of Højlund who scored 16 goals and provided 7 assists in 42 games for the Italian club last season.

Reports about the outcome of the meeting claimed that United have decided to improve their bid for Højlund to €60 million during the direct talks.

The transfer market expert claimed that the Danish striker is willing to move to Manchester United this summer but since he still has a contract with Atalanta, the final decision lies with the club.

While Atalanta are trying to get the best out of the deal, Manchester United are reportedly pushing to conclude the deal as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have turned down West Ham United’s bid for their former captain Harry Maguire.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claimed that West Ham United made an initial bid of £20 million for the services of the England international but the Red Devils want more than that before they can allow the center-defender leave.

Recall that United paid the sum of €87 million to Leicester City for the services of Maguire on August 5, 2019, which was the highest transfer fee paid for a defender.

Due to inconsistency in terms of on-field performance, Maguire lost his place in coach Erik Ten Hag’s starting eleven and also lost his captaincy armband.
