The three games in match day four of the ongoing 2023 Women’s World Cup recorded eleven goals which projected how exciting the tournament could be going forward.

The first game of the day was between two football giants, Italy and Argentina. Interestingly, it was just a goal that separated the two giants.

Striker Cristiana Girelli came off the bench to head an 87th-minute winner as Italy started their 2023 Women’s World Cup campaign with a win.

After the slim win, Italy manager Milena Bertolini described Cristiana Girelli as “a leader, a captain of this group.”

The coach added, “She is always there and we know what she can give. We are very happy. We know how important it is to start such a tournament well.”

Italy’s second game in the 2023 Women’s World Cup will come up against Sweden at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. While Argentina’s next match is against South Africa at 01.00 a.m. on Friday.

Meanwhile, Germany handled World Cup debutants Morocco in Melbourne and thrashed the North African women squarely earlier today, July 24.

The world number two side Germany, who are heavy favorites to top Group H, beat Morocco 6-0 thanks to two goals from Popp, a goal from Bühl, own goals from Aït El Haj and M’Rabet, and then a late-minute goal from Schüller.

Germany’s next match at the 2023 Women’s World Cup is against Colombia while demoralized Morocco will attempt to push for a better World Cup debut against South Korea on Sunday, July 30.

The last 2023 Women’s World Cup match for today was between Brazil and Panama. And as expected, Brazil had it easy on Panama thanks to Ary Borges’ hat-trick.

She scored two goals in the first half, provided an assist for Bia Zaneratto for the third goal of the match, and then sealed a 4-0 victory for her team with a header afterward.

After the Ary Borges’ show in Brazil’s opening 2023 Women’s World Cup game, the Samba women will face France on July 29. While Panama will attempt to redeem themselves by beating Jamaica on the said date.
