Transfer: How Liverpool 'Stopped' Man City From Signing RB Leipzig Player
Josko Gvardiol

English Premier League top club, Manchester City, has been indirectly ‘hindered’ by their rival, Liverpool, from signing RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol.

Naija News learnt that Pep Guardiola’s side is pushing to sign the defender following the departure of some of their players this summer.

However, RB Leipzig director, Max Eberi, told Sky Germany during the week that the club’s £60 million sale of Dominik Szoboszlai to Liverpool meant they no longer needed money.

The German side insisted that their highly-rated defender, Gvardiol, will remain at the club.

“The fact is Man City would like to have him,” said Eberl during an interview.

He added: “Currently, we are still very far apart.

“The transfer of Dominik Szoboszlai has secured us financially. We don’t need the money.

“We would prefer Josko to stay.”
