Japan Beats Super Falcons 2-0 In A Friendly Match At Kobe

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have the 26th best chance to win the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup which commenced in Australia and New Zealand today, July 20.

The Super Falcons are in Group B alongside reigning Olympics champions, Canada, the tournament’s co-host Australia, and New Zealand.

Most pundits believe that the chance of Nigeria to make it out of the group stage is very slim as most of them believe Canada and Australia are favorites to make it out of the group.

British sports analytics company Opta confirmed Nigeria’s slim chance at the tournament when the company released the predictions of its “supercomputer” which gives the Super Falcons little or no chance of having a successful 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

According to the firm, out of a total of 32 countries that are participating in the tournament, the Super Falcons are the 26th most likely country that will win the tournament with a 0.04 percent chance of doing so.

According to the statistic firm, the reigning women’s world cup champions, the United States who have won the tournament four-time would most likely win the fifth one this year.

Opta stated: “The United States are our favorites to go all the way, with Opta’s supercomputer giving them a 21.6% chance of glory.

“England, the champions of Europe, are ranked second, at 16.9%. However, Sarina Wiegman’s team are without some key players due to injury.

“Spain – who will have Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas back – are given a 21.9% chance of reaching the final and an 11.3% shot of glory. However, they head into the tournament amid a dispute over their working conditions. Germany and France come next.”
