Omokri Clarifies Statement On Tinubu Attending Chicago State University

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has called for the total independence of the judiciary on the ongoing Presidential Election Petition.

In a tweet via his verified Twitter handle on Thursday, Omokri said every obstacle that will stop the independence of the judiciary should be avoided.

Omokri said he believe that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar l, won the 2023 election, but he deliberately refused to comment since the matter is before the Presidential Election Petitions Court (PEPC).

The former presidential aide expressed hope that the Bola Tinubu government will fulfil its pledge to ensure judicial independence following reports regarding the presidential election tribunal.

He wrote: “Every obstacle to judicial independence should be avoided.

“I believe that Waziri Atiku Abubakar won the #NigerianElections2023. However, I have deliberately kept quiet to allow the judiciary to do its work.

“And we hope the Tinubu government will fulfil its pledge to ensure judicial independence because what we hear from the PEPC is disturbing. But we still leave room for the benefit of the doubt.”
