Granit Xhaka will be moving from Arsenal to Bayer Leverkusen this summer as the two clubs have officially agreed on a transfer fee.

The midfielder will cost €25 million to move from the Premier League club to the German Bundesliga side.

Xhaka, 31, who played for the Gunners in 297 games throughout seven seasons, is entering the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium.

Within the next 24 hours, an official statement is anticipated to confirm his official departure from the North London club.

Meanwhile, Reiss Nelson, a forward for Arsenal, has agreed to a four-year contract extension with the Premier League side.

Before committing to a new deal with the team which he joined as an eight-year-old, the 23-year-old academy graduate’s prior contract had already expired.

Nelson played as a substitute 11 times in the Premier League last season, scoring the game-winning goal in injury time on March 4 to help his team defeat Bournemouth 3-2.

After Reiss Nelson renewed his stay at Arsenal, the club’s coach, Mikel Arteta said the youngster has “tremendous ability”.

The coach added, “Reiss is a player I have admired since the first day I was here. He has tremendous ability and is such an exciting offensive talent. Reiss knows how important he is to our squad with the quality he has.

“It’s great that Reiss has committed his future to us – he knows this club so well, he grew up here and we look forward to enjoying many more good moments with him.”
