The Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Iliya Damagum has revealed his plan for the party following his taking over from Iyorchia Ayu.

Damagum in a statement released on Tuesday said he is stepping into the chairmanship position to fulfill all righteousness.

This is coming after a court order restrained Ayu from parading himself as National Chairman.

Damagum in an interview with newsmen called for the cooperation of members of the party.

He said, “We are here to fulfill all righteousness, we have a court order restraining the chairman our national chairman and we are law-abiding

“I will be here with you in an acting capacity pending the determination of the court, I want to use this opportunity to enjoy you to give me the cooperation all used to have with you.

“I will have a meeting immediately after this session with the NWC to review what is happening in the party.”

Ayu on Tuesday stepped aside for Damagum pending the determination of a case in court.

A High Court sitting in Makurdi presided over by Justice Wilfred Kpochin issued an interim order restraining Ayu from parading himself as the PDP chairman.

The order of the court was issued on Monday following an ex-parte application brought before the court by a PDP member, Conrad Utaan.
