A call has gone out to security agencies to caution supporters of the Labour Party (LP) over plans to hold a nationwide protest at the offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Naija News reports that the Support Group Coordination of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) made the call on Sunday in Abuja.

According to the group’s Secretary, Tosin Adeyanju, they have an intelligence report about the plans of the Labour Party to protest at all INEC offices nationwide.

Adeyanju said the leadership of the party has planned to disrupt activities at various INEC offices across the federation because of the commission’s refusal to grant access to electoral materials used for the presidential and national assembly election.

The APC chieftain warned that it would be advisable for them to desist from such plans because it’s an act of mischief-making.

Adeyanju also warned parents and guardians to caution their wards from attending such protests.

The APC chieftain said “We have uncovered plans by some groups of persons who want to, in the name of protest, unleash violence, instead of addressing their grievances to the tribunal.

“We hereby warn these groups/persons to shelve their planned violence or have us to contend with.

“Therefore, parents and guardians are advised to warn their children against participating in the planned protest slated for tomorrow across the country.

“We call on Security agencies, to as a matter of urgency, take proper action against these enemies of democracy.”
