Osimhen, Lookman FaceOff In Napoli Vs Atalanta Clash

Two Nigerian football stars, Victor Osimhen, and Ademola Lookman will face off on Saturday when Napoli clash with Atalanta in a Serie A match at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. The game will kick off at 18:00 (6pm).

Osimhen, 24, has excelled for Luciano Spalletti’s squad this season. He is spearheading the Italian team in search of their first Scudetto in thirty years.

So far this season, the Nigerian striker has scored 19 goals in 21 league games, which did not only help him to remain the Italian Serie A top scorer but keep Napoli at the top of the league table.

Tonight, Osimhen will lead Napoli to face the club of his countryman, Atalanta, a week after losing to Lazio last weekend. The defeat was Napoli’s first in 2023.

Hence, the Serie A league leaders are expected to use Atalanta, the 6th-ranked team in the league, to bounce back to winning ways.

Atalanta’s top scorer so far in the league is 25-year-old Nigerian striker Lookman. Earlier this year, he was second to Osimhen in terms of the number of league goals scored. He has scored 12 goals and provided five assists in 24 league games.

Unfortunately, his form has dropped so drastically that Lookman has not scored a goal in the last 5 league games which has made him way behind Osimhen in terms of consistency.
