'Sore Losers' - APC Campaign Council Slams PDP Over Protest At INEC Headquarters

The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC PCC) has berated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the protest at the national headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Naija News reported that the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, and the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, had led protesters to INEC’s office on Monday to protest the outcome of the presidential election won by Bola Tinubu of the APC.

Reacting to the demonstration in an interview on BBC’s Focus on Africa, the Special Adviser on Communications and Public Affairs to the APC PCC, Dele Alake, described the PDP leaders are sore losers.

The former Commissioner of Information in Lagos State stated that Atiku and other PDP leaders were being melodramatic about the protest.

Alake, however, said it is Atiku’s human right to speak about his misgivings over his loss of the election and commended the former Vice President for not inciting violence.

He said: “I think it is well within Atiku’s human rights to voice out his misgivings over his loss of the election but I would say that it is a better alternative than going on the streets.

“We welcome any aggrieved party to take its grievances to the judiciary and seek succour. That is what decent people do in different societies. For Atiku to be protesting and being melodramatic about it is also normal.

‘’Don’t forget that Atiku has been contesting for the presidency of this country since 1993, exactly 30 years ago. He has contested every presidential election in Nigeria and he has lost everyone since 1993 and this will not be different.”
