Former chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Mai Mala Buni, has reacted to the emergence of former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as Nigeria’s president-elect.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, on Wednesday morning, declared the APC presidential candidate as the winner of the February 25th presidential election.

Tinubu was declared the winner after amassing the highest votes of 8,794,726 in the keenly contested election.

Reacting to the development, Yobe State Governor, Buni said Tinubu’s victory alongside his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, is the best thing to happen to Nigeria at this time.

Governor Buni stated this in his congratulatory message to Tinubu and Shettima through his Media Aide, Mamman Mohammed, Naija News reports.

According to him, the people of Nigeria have spoken with great hope for a better Nigeria through the Tinubu/Shettima Presidency.

Buni argued that Tinubu is a true Nigerian who accommodates Nigerians from various ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds.

“His experience in transforming Lagos State would no doubt be used for the transformation of a larger Nigeria,” the former APC national chairman said.

Buni, therefore, called on Nigerians, including other candidates who contested along with him, to support the President-elect to build a more united and prosperous Nigeria.

He prayed to God to guide the incoming Asiwaju/Kashim administration for a more united, prosperous and better Nigeria.

Tinubu is expected to receive his Certificate of Return on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, Naija News reports.
