Eleven Parties Disown Walk-Out On INEC At Collation Centre

Eleven political parties out of the eighteen registered parties for the 2023 presidential election have dissociated themselves from the walk-out by some political parties on Monday.

Naija News had earlier reported that some political parties walked out of the collation centre over the procedure of announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The agents of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dino Melaye and former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha led some of the parties to walk out at the national collation centre in Abuja.

Before the party agents walked out, the Chairman of INEC had warned Melaye against disrupting the collation process.

Melaye had insisted that the results announced by the SCOPEs should have first been uploaded on the INEC results viewing portal (iReV) for transparency and accountability.

The eleven parties, however, stated that they were not part of the parties that walked out.
