Chelsea Vs Liverpool New Matchday Confirmed

The English Premier League have scheduled Chelsea and Liverpool to play their outstanding match on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.

The match will be played at Stamford Bridge, and the kick-off time is 8 pm BST, according to the new fixtures.

Naija News recalls that the game was initially scheduled for play in September 2022 but was postponed due to the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Over three games, including Chelsea v Liverpool, were postponed then. The Premier League followed the development with a statement explaining that following extensive consultation with clubs, police, local Safety Advisory Groups and other relevant authorities, there was no option but to postpone the remaining fixtures till further notice.

Naija News understands that this season has been tough for both Liverpool and Chelsea. While the Reds are currently sitting 8th on the league chat with 35 points, the Blues resides in 10th position with 31 points.

Recently, Spanish professional football club, Real Madrid travelled to the Anfield Stadium and thrashed Liverpool in their UEFA champions league match.

Madrid went home smiling after a stunning 2-5 victory over their hosts in the round of 16 first-leg tie.

It could be recalled that Madrid beat Liverpool in two UEFA Champions League finals in the last five years (2018 and 2022).

Karim Benzema and Vinicius Jr bagged a brace each as Real Madrid demolished Liverpool again in front of their home fans on Tuesday night.

Though Liverpool started well in the match, scoring the opening goals through Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah, the Spanish side returned the favour with five goals later before 90th minute of the match.
