Osun Governor, Adeleke Makes New Appointment

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has appointed retired Army Captain Benedict Olusoji Akanni as the new Field Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps.

A statement obtained by Naija News revealed that Captain Akanni’s appointment was confirmed following the resignation of Amitolu Shittu, the first Field Commander of the security outfit.

Shittu is said to have tendered his resignation in an open letter on January 20, 2023.

According to details made available by Yussuf Idowu, the spokesperson of Osun Amotekun on Tuesday, the appointment takes immediate effect.

Recall that Amotekun is a South-Western security network jointly formed by all governors from the region on 9 January 2020 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The security outfit was formed to complement the efforts of other federal security agencies to tackle crimes in the South West zone following cases of killing and kidnapping, among other crimes, Naija News reports.

Hunter Discovers Thousands Of Disposed PVCs Few Days To Election

Meanwhile, with less than 5 days to the much anticipated 2023 election, an unidentified Nigerian hunter has found thousands of Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) in Anambra State.

Naija News reports that this is coming amidst the various complaints by many Nigerians who could not find their PVCs with the Independent National Electoral Commission, despite registration.

However, a hunter was said to have discovered thousands of PVCs in a bush at Nnewi North Local Government Area, Anambra State.

The hunter took the PVCs to Authority FM radio station in the state and a staff seen in the video expressed displeasure over the development.

The video has also sparked outrage from many Nigerians.
