Confirmed Carabao Cup Semi-final Fixtures (Full Draws)

The draws for the semi-final stage of this season’s Carabao Cup semi-finals have been held on Wednesday night.

The draws see Southampton go up against Newcastle United after eliminating Premier League Champions, Manchester City in the previous round.

Similarly, Manchester United who are book favourites to win the cup will take on Nottingham Forest in the other semi-final clash.

The two-legged ties will take place in the week commencing January 23 and January 30 respectively while the final of the cup competition is scheduled for February 26 at Wimbledon.

Pulisic Battles Injury

On the day Chelsea announced the arrival of Joao Felix on loan from Atletico Madrid, the Premier League club disclosed that Christian Pulisic will be sidelined longer than expected.

Earlier, Chelsea’s manager, Graham Potter confirmed that American forward Christian Pulisic will be sidelined for months.

Naija News recalls that when Chelsea lost 1-0 at home to Manchester City in the Premier League, Pulisic left the game in the first half due to a knee injury.

Potter first predicted that the USA international would be out for a few weeks, but the subsequent evaluation has resulted in a significant alteration in the expected period of Pulisic’s comeback.

Nevertheless, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s availability for Thursday’s trip to Fulham is good news for Chelsea’s striker options.

There is hope that Raheem Sterling’s injury won’t be as serious as Pulisic’s when Chelsea resumes their Premier League campaign on Thursday.
