Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has given reasons the five aggrieved Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)were ‘humiliated’ in Oyo State.

Naija News recalls the aggrieved governors of the PDP popularly called the G5 got a bit of a shocker from party supporters in Ibadan, Oyo State during their campaign rally in the State on Thursday.

The G5 governors; Nyesom Wike (Rivers State), Seyi Makinde (Oyo State), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia State), Samuel Ortom (Benue State), and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu State) were in Oyo State for the flag-off of the campaign of their member, Seyi Makinde who is seeking re-election as the state governor.

During the rally held at Mapo Hall, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state while addressing the crowd, told them to vote for Makinde and other PDP candidates in the forthcoming election but for the presidency, he said the Governor would address the crowd.

However, as he was speaking and failed to mention the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar as part of those the crowd should vote for, shouts of ‘Atiku, Atiku, Atiku’ rent the air from the supporters.

Reacting to the development on Twitter, Omokri said the G5 governors were disgraced in Ibadan because of the popularity of the PDP flagbearer.

The controversial author said the former Vice President is popular in the state because of his lifetime of service to all Nigerians irrespective of region and religion.

Omokri added that Atiku is the only Presidential candidate who has that national spread and network of friends in every nook and cranny of Nigeria.

He wrote: “Day 88 of #WhyShouldIVoteAtiku: Vote for Waziri Atiku Abubakar because he is for the Nigerian people, and the Nigerian people are for him. That is why Governor Wike and his Personal Assistants, who call themselves Governors, could not convince Ibadan people not to vote for Atiku.

“To their utter surprise, shame and confusion, when they shouted PDP, the Ibadan crowd spontaneously shouted Atiku, Atiku, Atiku. They tried to play some music, but the crowd crescendoed Atiku, Atiku, Atiku. And Wike went back to Port Harcourt knowing that Ibadan people never bow to dictators.

”But, ask yourself why Waziri Atiku is so popular in Oyo State. It is because of a lifetime of service to all Nigerians irrespective of region and religion.

“No other Presidential candidate has that National spread and network of friends in every nook and cranny of Nigeria. Waziri Atiku Abubakar will never have an empty stadium in Kogi or Ekiti, and he will never be booed in Niger State. He is a man for all Nigerians.

“That is why I invite you and your families and friends to please vote for Waziri Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party on Election Day, Saturday, February 25, 2023.

”Please join me for another reason to vote Atiku tomorrow, God sparing my life.”
