Many Feared Dead As 40ft Container Falls On Cars In Lagos

A 40 feet container reportedly fell on three vehicles at the Cele bus stop, on the Oshodi Apapa expressway, Lagos, on Thursday, December 22, 2022.

Naija News gathered that the driver of one of the vehicles, a commercial bus, has been confirmed dead while its passengers and those in the two other vehicles managed to escape.

Confirming the accident, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) in a post on its Facebook page said the Police team from the IIasa division are currently doing the needful.

“An accident happened at PM filling station main carriage way, Inward Cele express involving an upturned 40ft container on a commercial bus.

“Police Officers from Ilasa division are on the ground doing the needful and also effort is on for recovery”

APC Lose Five Members In Boat Accident

The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday night lost five members in a boat accident.

Naija News learnt that the incident occurred on Tuesday night along the Gbaramatu-Warri river.

Some others involved in the incident are currently in hospital receiving treatment from injuries sustained in the maritime accident.

According to Punch, the boat accident involved party members and supporters as they were returning from the party’s governorship rally.

The governorship campaign was held earlier in the day in Okerenkoko and Ugborodo towns in Warri South West Local Government Area.

It was noted that a commercial boat travelling in the opposite direction rammed into the boat carrying the APC loyalists which led to a capsize.
