Clubs That Have Qualified For Carabao Cup Quarter Finals (Full List)

The stage is set for the quarter-final stage of the Carabao Cup competition in the English football league.

This follows the conclusion of fixtures on Wednesday even as the outcome of Thursday’s game between Liverpool and Manchester City will confirm the eighth club that will proceed to the next stage of the competition.

On Wednesday night, Manchester United recorded a 2-0 win over Burnley courtesy of goals from Christian Eriksen and Marcus Rashford.

Charlton Athletic beat Brighton on penalties to become the only non-premier league team that will be in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.

The seven clubs that have already booked their places in the quarter-finals are: Leicester City, Wolves, Newcastle United, Southampton, Nottingham Forest, and Manchester United.

The winner of Thursday’s clash between Liverpool and Manchester City will become the eighth team ahead of the draw later in the day.

Tobi Amusan Named Africa’s Best Athlete For 2022

The Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) has named Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan as Africa’s Best Female Athlete of the year 2022.

Tobi Amusan beat Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon and Ethiopia’s Letesenbet Gidey to win the 2022 Best Female Athlete award.

Kipyegon and Gidey finished second and third respectively behind the Nigerian star. They received the award on Tuesday, December 20.

Note that Kenya’s Kipyegon is the reigning 1500m world champion and Ethiopia’s Gidey is the reigning 1000m world champion.

As for Amusan, her rosy journey in 2022 started in June when she won the African Championships in Mauritius and successfully defended her title.
