The photo of the Nigerian mum of two who tragically passed away on Saturday, December 17, following the incident on Thursday outside the London concert of Ahmed Ololade, fondly called Asake, has surfaced on social media.

Naija News reports that Rebecca Ikumelo of Newham died after a stampede at the 02 Brixton Academy on Thursday where Asake was billed to perform, leading to eight people injured with four cases critical.

According to MyLondon, Ikumelo died after sustaining critical injuries at the crowd crush at O2 Academy Brixton on Thursday, saying she was a single mum-of-two.

Toni Tone, in a twitter post, decried the death of Rebecca. She posted a beautiful photo of her and wrote: “This photo was taken the day I last saw Rebecca. She was a beautiful woman who radiated positive energy and was dedicated to being the best version of herself for her kids. She also did so much to raise awareness of autism spectrum disorder. My heart goes out to her family.”

Chief Superintendent Colin Wingrove said: “From the outset, the police investigation into the incident at the Brixton Academy has been painstaking and forensic in its nature, and I can assure Rebecca’s family and friends that this work will continue for as long as necessary.

“We are determined, along with our partners, to do everything we can to establish exactly what happened on Thursday night. My thoughts and deepest sympathies remain with Rebecca’s family and all those affected.”

Reacting to the development, Asake, via his Instagram, posted a message where he stated he was “devastated by the information” and he had spoken to the victim’s family.
