Osun: Gov. Adeleke Reacts To Appeal Court Judgment Against Oyetola

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has undertaken three major actions upon his assumption of office on Sunday.

Naija News reports that after taking the oath office and allegiance, Adeleke reversed the name of the State from “State of Osun” to “Osun State”.

Governor Adeleke also reversed its motto from “The State of the Virtues” to “The State of the Living Spring”.

The governor also ordered that all government bank accounts be immediately frozen until further notice.

He also reversed all appointments made by the immediate past governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, effective from July 7th, 2022, stating that all actions of the Oyetola administration will be revisited.

Adeleke said a panel would be set up to conduct out an inventory of government assets and recover those in wrong hands.

Politicians, Monarchs, Others Attend Adeleke’s Inauguration

Dignitaries at the inauguration include the PDP presidential candidate and his running mate, Atiku Abubakar and Ifeanyi Okowa respectively, the National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu; the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki and Akwa Ibom State Governor, Emmanuel Udom.

Also present were Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, Governor Duoye Diri of Bayelsa State, and former Ekiti governor, Ayo Fayose.

Former Oyo governor, Chief Rashidi Ladoja; former Osun governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, his wife, Omolola; former deputy governor of the state, Erelu Olusola Obada; and Otunba Oyewole Fasawe were also present at the inauguration.

Traditional rulers seated at the venue include the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Lawal, the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji, and the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, among other monarchs.

Also at the venue were the wife of the PDP presidential candidate, Titi Atiku Abubakar; Lagos PDP governorship aspirant, Dr Olajide ‘Jandor’ Adediran; Senator Francis Fadahunsi; and former governorship candidate in Ondo State, Oluwole Oke, among others.
