Osun APC Chair, Famodun Installed As Monarch

The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Gboyega Famodun has been installed as the new Owa of Igbajo.

Famodun on Tuesday morning succeeded the late Oba Olufemi Fasade, who died in the year 2020.

The APC chairman in the video of the installation shared by former Commissioner for Information and Strategy in the state, Sunday Akere was adorned in the symbolic ‘Akoko’ leaves as part of the installation rites.

It was learnt that Famodun who was dressed in all white attire underwent necessary rites of installation in the early hours of Tuesday before he was openly presented to the indigenes.

The Osun State Government led by Governor Gboyega Oyetola on Monday announced the appointment of Famodun as the new Owa of Igbajo.

The Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Funke Egbemode disclosed the appointment in a statement made available to newsmen after Monday’s state executive council meeting.

The statement reads, “Prince Famodun was unanimously selected as the sole candidate of the Owa Oke-Ode ruling house in a meeting held on November 11, 2022.

“Until his appointment as the Owa-elect, Prince Adegboyega Famodun, a consummate politician, was the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun state.

“His appointment takes immediate effect.”
