NNPP Takes Position On Alliance With Other Parties For 2023 Gov Election

More people seem to have been allegedly troping to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), as the party again received new members yesterday in Kaltungo Local Government Area of Gombe State.

Naija News reports that the new members were defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the said local government area.

According to the governorship candidate of the party in the state, Khamisu Mailantarki, who received them alongside other party chieftains like the state party chairman Maikano Abdullahi, the recent defection into the party was evidence of the NNPP’s successes.

He said it was a good thing that the detectors have found refuge in the party, noting that they will be carried along party activities as new members of NNPP.

Recall that Naija News reported last week that some aggrieved executive members of the Ebonyi State chapter of the Labour Party,(LP) had also dumped the party for the NNPP.

Naija News reported that the defection was because of some crisis in the LP concerning the running of party affairs by the party’s leadership.

Among the 14 that were said to have decamped from the Labour Party in Ebonyi were the state secretary of the party, the youth and women leader and other executive members.

Mailantarki however said both the PDP and the APC had been opportune to rule the state in the past years, but their performance was short of expectations.

Therefore, it was time for the party to contest that narrative in the forthcoming election, adding that the NNPP would provide a better alternative for the Gombe people next year at the polls.

The NNPP Gombe governorship candidate, while congratulating the new members told them to mobilise people widely in the LGA for the party’s victory next year.

He said “Glory be to God for the successes being recorded by the NNPP every day. This is a result of the good manifestos of the party. That is why more people are trooping to join. Together, we can do it and have a new Gombe State come 2023.”
