Liverpool Vs West Ham: Nunez Seals Victory With First Anfield Goal

Darwin Nunez and Alisson Becker’s heroic performance helped Liverpool defeat West Ham at Anfield stadium.

The Uruguayan scored his first home goal for Liverpool as the Reds defeated David Moyes’ men on Wednesday evening.

Liverpool supporters were unsure the team could build on its victory over Manchester City on Sunday, but busy Nunez converted Kostas Tsimikas’ cross to a goal, as he rose to nod the ball beyond Lukasz Fabianski’s reach.

Moments later, Nunez had another opportunity to extend the lead, but Fabianski was able to make the save.

The Hammers were then awarded a penalty as a result of Joe Gomez’s foul on Jarrod Bowen, but Alisson made a superb diving save to stop Jarrod Bowen’s attempt to convert the penalty

The Brazilian keeper ensured Liverpool followed up their outstanding victory over Manchester City on Sunday by keeping a clean sheet.

The Reds have been inconsistent so far this season, but they have now won three games in a row across all competitions, and they currently hold the 7th spot in the Premier League standings with 16 points.
