Breaking: APC Replaces Uzodinma As Chairman Of Edo Guber Primary Election Committee

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday revealed what allegedly led to the attack on members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during their rally in Kaduna State.

The ruling party claimed that the attack on supporters and members of the PDP was self-inflicted.

APC claimed that PDP contracted some political merchants to help them rent the crowd for the rally, but the merchants took off with the funds without settling the crowd.

The National Publicity Secretary of the ruling party, Felix Morka revealed this in a statement released on Wednesday.

Morka condemned all forms of violence and interference in the activities of political parties.

According to Morka, “Every party is entitled to conduct their legitimate activities in peace and security. And every party has a right to equal protection under the law. Perpetrators of disruptive and other acts of violence must be brought to justice.

“However, the PDP has no one but itself to blame for the violent incident at its rally in Kaduna.

“The incident was simply a matter of a rented crowd that went irate when the party’s rent-a-crowd managers disappeared with funds meant to pay for the rented crowd.”

He further stated that the PDP was trying to blame APC for the incident rather than condemn itself for the poor showing at its Kaduna rally.

Morka noted that APC is not responsible for the attack and has no reason to be perturbed by the rally.

He added, “As Africa’s largest political party, bolstered by the remarkable accomplishments of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, with a vibrant future led by our visionary presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, we cannot, in any way, be unnerved by any political party or presidential candidate.

“Certainly not by the PDP, a party in tatters and at war with itself.”

Morka stated that it was PDP that decided to fix its rally in Kaduna on the same day that their presidential candidate was expected to appear at the Arewa Dialogue before which the PDP candidate made an appearance the Saturday prior.

He said a well-governed campaign would have avoided fixing two major events in the same city on the same day.

Morka noted, “Having made their pitch at the dialogue, it was only fair that our candidate is allowed to do the same. But the such civil gesture is uncharacteristic of the PDP.”

He called on security agencies to investigate the incident and apprehend persons responsible for the attack.
