'I Feel Like This Is Just The Beginning' - Tems Speaks After Grammy Award Win

Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has been called out by a Kenya show promoter for cancelling a show after receiving payment.

Naija News reports that this comes after the singer took to her Twitter page to apologise over her inability to perform in Kenya ahead of the Tukutane festival scheduled for October 15, 2022.

The ‘Crazy Tings’ crooner noted that the latest development was beyond her control, however, promised to give her fans a deserving show to make up for the time.

She tweeted: “Hey Kenya, honestly, it’s quite heartbreaking to say this but I will not be able to perform at the Tukutane Festival due to circumstances beyond my control. I am as disappointed as you all are but I look forward to coming and giving you a show that you deserve. Love you all.”

However, Tems’ statement was unacceptable to Tukutane Entertainment as they claimed the singer was giving a flimsy excuse.

In a statement shared online, the show promoter said that Tems manager informed them about the singer’s inability to perform after the payment was made.

The statement disclosed that Tems was not comfortable coming to Kenya to perform and it was a big shock to the show organisers.

The show promoter added they will be rescheduling the event to a later date which will be announced later.
