NPFL: Elegbeleye Appointed As Chairman Of Interim Management Committee

The Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Sunday Dare, has appointed Gbenga Elegbeleye as the Chairman of the Interim Management Committee (IMC).

Naija News reports that Elegbeleye was the former Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC).

The IMC, which includes veteran journalist and football executive Paul Bassey as vice-chairman, will oversee the affairs of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

A former striker for Enugu Rangers, Davidson Owunmi, is in charge of operations, while Olumide Bamiduro serves as Secretary of the Committee.

The IMC will replace the League Management Committee (LMC), which was recently declared illegal by the Sports Minister.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), acting on a mandate from the ministry, also revoked the LMC’s license.

1. Gbenga Elegbeleye – Chairman
2. Paul Bassey – Vice Chairman
3. Davidson Owumi – Head of Operations
4. Kunle Soname
5. Daniel Amokachi
6. Calvin Emeka Onwuka
7. Aliyu Adamu
8. Rep of the NFF.
9. Rep of the Nigeria Police Force
10. Barrister Danladi Ibrahim.
11. Olumide Bamiduro. Secretary
