PDP Reacts As Governors Fail To Attend National Caucus Meeting

PDP Speaks On Plot To Delay Supreme Court Judgement In Suit Against Shettima

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reacted to the failure of some of its governors to attend the national caucus meeting held on Wednesday night.

Naija News reports that the PDP national caucus meeting presided by the National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, was held at Akwa Ibom Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja.

It was earlier reported that Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State, who hosted the meeting, was not in attendance for the crucial meeting.

Also, Governors who failed to attend the crucial meeting were Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu) and Darius Ishiaku (Taraba).

The governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, sent his deputy to represent him, and the deputy governors of Edo and Benue represented their principals.

Governor of Sokoto, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal; Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri; Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, were present at the meeting.

In a chat with newsmen after the meeting, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, said most of the governors were outside of the country.

Ologunagba noted that some of the governors attended the meeting, and others who could not attend were represented by their deputies.

He said, “Some of them were on holiday, outside the country. They were represented by their deputies.”
