BREAKING: PDP Governors To Meet Wike Over Rivers Crisis

The governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were absent at the national caucus of the party.

Naija News reports that the PDP national caucus meeting presided by the National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, was held on Wednesday night at Akwa Ibom Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja.

It is understood that the national caucus comprises all PDP governors, all members who are former presidents, former vice presidents and ex-senate presidents.

Other members of the party organ are members who are presiding officers of the National Assembly, former National Chairmen of the party as well as members of the National Working Committee (NWC).

According to ThisDay, Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State, who hosted the meeting, was not in attendance for the crucial meeting.

Also, Governors who failed to attend the crucial meeting were Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu) and Darius Ishiaku (Taraba).

The governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, sent his deputy to represent him, and the deputy governors of Edo and Benue represented their principals.

Governor of Sokoto, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal; Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri; Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, were present at the meeting.

PDP Members Present At The Caucus Meeting

Some PDP stalwarts present at the meeting included PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar; former Vice President, Namadi Sambo, Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman, Senator Walid Jibrin and former Deputy National Chairman, Chief Bode George.

Other PDP members at the meeting were former Senate President Adolphus Wabara, former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido; former governor of Kaduna State, Ahmed Makarfi and former Minister of Police Affairs, Maina Waziri.

Minority Leader, House of Representatives, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu; former Imo State governor, Emeka Ihedioha, and National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba; among others, were present at the meeting.
