Former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has reacted to the kidnap of four Reverend sisters in the Okigwe-Umulolo axis of Okigwe Local Government Area (LGA) of Imo State.

Naija News recalls that the reverend sisters were abducted on Sunday morning by the gunmen while on their way to a thanksgiving mass in the area.

The victims are identified as: Sisters Johannes Nwodo, Christabel Echemazu, Liberata Mbamalu and Benita Agu.

The abduction was confirmed in a statement on Sunday by the secretary-general of The Sisters of Jesus The Saviour Generalate, Zita Ihedoro.

Reacting in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Tuesday, Sani condemned the abduction of the Catholic nuns by armed gunmen, describing the incident as unfortunate and tragic.

The former lawmaker, however, appealed to Nigerians to keep these Reverend sisters in their prayers.

He wrote: “The abductions of Four Catholic nuns in Imo State by armed gunmen is unfortunate and tragic. Let’s keep these Reverend sisters in our prayers.
