We Are Set For The Protest Tomorrow - Adamawa NLC Chairman

All is now set for the nationwide planned protest in solidarity with the Academic Staff Union of University( ASUU) by the Nigeria Labour Congress ( NLC) in Adamawa.

State Chairman of NLC in Adamawa, Comrade Emmanuel Fashe stated this today in his office while debunking claims in some quarters that NLC will be embarking on a two-day strike.

He said, “the planned peaceful protest is a one-day solidarity protest to express the concerns of the organized labour movement in Nigeria over the prolonged ASUU strike.”

“The protest is a day Nationwide thing that will take place simultaneously in all the 36 states while the 27th July, 2022 protest will be in Abuja over Federal government’s failure to address the lingering strike.”

Comrade Emmanuel Fashe added that “workers will go back to their various working place after we will deliver our protest letter to the governor”.

“We are also mindful of miscreants coming to take advantage of the protest to cause problems, that is why we have put in place measures to check it should be any.”

Even the request by the National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) was given conditions before we approved their participation, the chairman said.
